We all want our kids to be happy and healthy. So here are a few tips to make sure that happens…

Don’t Be Fooled By Appearances

Even though they might look grown up, between the ages of 10 and 19, they are still kids. They still need plenty of support and encouragement, not to be burdened by unrealistic expectations.

Support Shy Children

Children who are overly shy are prone to anxiety. They need plenty of support to get out of their comfort zone, but not lose the essence of who they are.

Live In The Moment

As adults, we tend to think of the future a lot, but children live in the here and now. Be especially mindful of this in the 3 to 5 year old age bracket. Don’t focus on what is coming up, be present in the moment and give instructions accordingly.

Slow Down

Children move at a slower pace than adults. Try and take this into account when you are planning your day. Leave a bit of extra time to get out the door on time and for bedtime shenanigans. A hectic moment then becomes one to enjoy.

Remove Distractions

Refrain from checking your phone when you are spending quality time with your children. Otherwise, they might start to pick up on the fact that you aren’t there for them when they need you.
